A businessman, identified as Jackson Peter, was on Monday docked in a Zuba Upper Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly assaulting a woman and her son.
The police charged Peter, 38, who lives in Duste Makaranta, Abuja with criminal intimidation and assault.
The Prosecution Counsel, Chinedu Ogada, told the court that the complainant Mrs Esther Salihu of Angwar Counselor, Zuba, Abuja, reported the matter at the Zuba Divisional Police Station, on July 5.

He said the defendant went to the complainant’s house on May 28, at about 7 p.m., alleging that wielding machine was stolen from her husband’s shop.
Ogada alleged that the defendant hit the complainant on the face causing severe injury and assaulted her son who came to rescue his mother.
The defendant, he said, also threatened to deal with both of the mother and her son.
The offence, he said, contravened the provision of sections 397 and 265 of the Penal Code Law.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Presiding judge, Umar Angulu, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Angulu ordered that the surety must have reliable means of livelihood and identity card, which must be verified by the court registrar.
The judge adjourned the matter until Nov.16, for hearing.
