2 security guards docked for allegedly stealing 4 solar panels

Two security guards were on Thursday docked in a Karu Upper Area Court, Abuja for allegedly stealing four solar panels worth N600,000 belonging to their employer.
The police charged  Gabriel Eche and John Agbo with joint acts and theft.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution counsel, Olarewaju Osho, told the court that the complainant, Aremu Kehinde of Area 11, Garki, Abuja reported the matter at the Garki Police Station on Nov. 5, at about 11pm.
He said the defendants, who were employed as security guards in the complainant’s residence, connived and stole four solar panels, worth N600,000.
He said the offence is punishable under sections 79 and 289 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Ishaq Hassan, however, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300,000 each and one surety each in like sum each.
Hassan adjourned the case until Dec. 22 for a hearing.
