A company manager, Peter Odigie, who allegedly employed an unlicensed driver who recklessly drove a truck that crushed a car at Ojuelegba, Lagos State, on Friday appeared in court.
Odigie, 40, appeared before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court on a count charge of reckless driving.
The defendant, whose residential address was not provided, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Courage Ekhueorohan,told the court that the defendant and one other person committed the offence on Sept. 19, at 6:00 p.m. on Funsho Williams Avenue by Albati Barracks inwards Ojuelegba.

Ekhueorohan alleged that the defendant, a Manager at Kemstol Perfect Nig. Ltd., had employed the service of an unlicensed driver.
The prosecutor said that the driver, now at large, recklessly drove a vehicle with registration number T 7765 LA and crushed a moving Toyota Camry with four persons trapped in it.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the alleged offence contravenes Section 412 of the Road Traffic Law of Lagos State, 2012.
The Magistrate, Mrs Sodiq Bello, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Oct. 21 for mention.
