The Katsina State Police Command yesterday paraded two fake security operatives involved in an armed robbery while camouflaging as officers of the Nigerian Army and the Police Force respectively, to rob unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables.
The two suspects identified as Yahaya Armaya’u 35, (alias KOFUR) and Bashir Isiyaku 32, (alias SOJA) both from Yar-Kaware village, in Kafur LGA of Katsina State, were paraded before pressmen at the State Police Command Headquarters
The Spokesman of the state Command, SP Gambo Isa told newsmen in Katsina, that the suspects while dressed in Police and Army uniforms, rode in a Golf motor vehicle to attack Alhaji Zaharadin Yau, of Sheka village, Kafur LGA, Katsina State.
He said ’’While posing as military and Police officers, respectively, the suspects intimidated him with a handcuff and eventually robbed him of his Boxer motorcycle worth over N200,000’’.

‘’Similarly, using the same strategy, the suspects attacked and robbed one Usman Sani of Yari-Bori village, of his motorcycle’’.
‘’In the course of the investigation, the suspects confessed to have used a similar method and robbed four (4) Boxer motorcycles at different locations between Malumfashi and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja’’.
‘’items recovered from the suspects include handcuff, a police face cap, one army Camouflage T-shirt, a pair of canvas and two black Jeans trousers.
In a related development, The Katsina State Command have also paraded 7 informants and several logistics suppliers to bandits as well as a number of cattle rustlers
The spokesman of the command, SP Gambo Isa, who addressed the press on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba Sanusi, said the arrests were part of the command’s fight against crime and criminality in the state
SP Gambo further listed some of the arrested informants to include: Alhaji Arrafat Lawal, 50, of Dan Jibga village, Tsafe LGA in Zamfara state, who was arrested along Sheme-kankara road, Bello Sani,30, of same address who was arrested with a gallon of fuel to be supplied to the bandits
